EUROPEAN WOMEN ON BOARD INVITES INTERNATIONAL BOARD PROFESSIONALS

In November, the European Women on Board initiative invites selected female professionals to a network and speed dating event with head hunters for board positions. Dr. Claudia Nagel was present a member of the International Board Professionals.

European Women on Board is a European initiative with the following goals:

PREMIER EUROPEAN NETWORK

We will develop the European network of „first tier“ non-profit organizations by promoting and increasing the number of women in boards. Now there are 20% women of NED listed companies. At the same time, European Union intends to promote a target of 40% in 2020 in roughly 5000 companies.

INTERNATIONAL BOARD PROFESSIONALS

We have built an international female talent pool to offer opportunities to board-ready women, so they can reach top positions with international visibility and board mandates at European level. Thereby they are able to present the added value they can offer to boards.

DIVERSITY ON BOARDS

We actively participate in the debate of diversity on boards in order to improve the practice of corporate
governance, innovation and more balanced business models. We share the interest of companies and non-profit organizations to innovate, develop and grow.

OFFENBACH’S DISPUTE AROUND FREEDOM

EVO and the department for promotion of economic development had invited and more than 120 guests came to the old Schlosserei in Offenbach on 15th of August 2017. This year’s Offenbach dispute focused on the central theme of modernity, freedom, and the question of whether or not it would be threatened at the moment and, if so, what should be done.

On the podium sat Prof. Willaschek, Kant expert from Goethe University, brother Paulus, a belligerent month of the capuchin order and Hans Strothoff, a very successful entrepreneur from Dreieich. An extremely exciting, contrary and entertaining discussion by Claudia Nagel was presented. As a result it became clear how much more the capacity for freedom should be promoted – through teaching, education and the practicing of the competence, to consciously deal with their conscience and the different decision and action alternatives.

LEADERSHIP OF SCHOOLS

In today’s interview by hr-editor Claudia Wehrle, the headmaster Stefan Caspar and Dr. Claudia Nagel intensely discussed the topic of „what school directors can learn from managers“.

The role of principals has changed dramatically over the last few years and is increasingly determined by economic criteria, so that directing a school more and more can be compared to the management of a company. The classic manager roles (information, decision-making and relationship roles) must now also be performed by school leaders. With regard to the „product“ education and knowledge transfer for young people in comparison with classical corporate products and services, however, the school head is more likely to provide value-oriented attitude. This should not be based only on economic criteria, but also has to take into account the long-term development of the heart and character. For executives, however, the aspect of appreciation and meaning for employees is increasingly in the foreground.
